FEED (Front End Engineering Design)

FEED (Front End Engineering Design) is an important stage in the development of a project, conducted after the completion of Conceptual Design,  or Feasibility Study.

The purpose of FEED is to identify technical issues and estimate investment cost before moving forward with the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) phase.

The outcome of the FEED work is a “FEED Package” which serves as the basis for bidding for the EPC contract.

It is essential to accurately reflect the client’s intentions and project requirements in the FEED Package to avoid significant changes during the EPC phase.

The FEED work usually takes about a year for a large project and requires close communication with the client, often with the client stationed at the contractor’s office during the work execution.
